Malus matches his best scoring night
The match was relatively close in the first half: Prilep managed to keep Vardar within reach and the teams went into the break at 14:16. After the interval Vardar picked up the pace, opened the game and gradually pulled away to secure a nine-goal victory.
Vardar’s momentum carried over from their Champions League clash with Nantes earlier this week, and coach Ivan Cupic’s side showed the depth and firepower expected of the domestic champions.
Individual contributions stood out: for the home side Shipinkovski scored seven goals, while Malus tormented the Prilep defence — he converted 11 goals from 13 attempts and proved decisive in the visitors’ win.
After the match one Prilep representative commented on the recent derby: "The derby was a match we should have won, given that we are of higher quality than Vardar!" — attributed to Polozhani.
Vardar now face the rest of the Superleague season with a perfect start; Prilep will need to regroup after a heavy home defeat.
