Born in Australia but his heart is in Macedonia — Blagojche Stojanovski (Tuse) shows long hair and 15 kg lighter

Folk singer Blagojche Stojanovski — Tuse once again reminded audiences why he is held for decades as one of the region's most beloved entertainers. He published a video from his latest gig, where he animated guests at a christening held at Villa Molika in Bitola.

With his trademark energy and a repertoire of well-known folk refrains, Tuse had the hall on its feet and turned the family celebration into a lively party.

Image, hits and anniversary

The clip underlines a long-standing public image that was reinforced last year, when the singer marked 30 years of his career with a gala concert. At that celebration in the Summer Garden "Baron" in Bitola he performed his biggest hits for an audience of more than 600 guests.

Fans also regularly comment on his modern look — the distinctive ponytail, the styled goatee and the casual sneakers he prefers over classic shoes. A recently shared photograph from about fifteen years ago surprised many: in his youth he appears almost unrecognisable, with thick long hair, torn jeans and 15 kilograms less.

Although originally from the Resen region, Tuse was born in Australia and maintains a residence in Sydney, where he has long been one of the favourite entertainers among the Macedonian diaspora. Despite that, he and his family chose to live in their homeland.

"I was born in Australia, but my heart is in Macedonia and it will remain here! I had the opportunity to leave, but I was raised not to leave my parents alone in old age. We decided as a family to stay here so our parents can enjoy the grandchildren," the folk singer says. He has released numerous albums and dozens of live recordings, while the song "Prashaj gi svirachite" remains his calling card. With sons who are following paths in music and sport, Tuse continues to score hits and show that good song and sincere emotion know no borders.
