AS Roma approved to build Pietralata stadium

AS Roma received official approval to build its new stadium in the Pietralata area after the administrative procedure for the project was completed on 29.09.2026.
Project, capacity and commercial plan
The planned arena will hold 60,605 spectators and the investment is estimated at more than one billion euros. The complex will be designed for football matches but will also include a museum, an official club store, hospitality facilities and other commercial spaces.
Club and city planners say the site in Pietralata was cleared through the required administrative steps, enabling the move from planning to construction.
According to the project timeline, work is scheduled to begin in spring 2027. The stadium is expected to be completed before the European Championship in 2032.
For AS Roma, having a privately operated home stadium is a long‑term strategic priority intended to increase matchday revenue, expand the club’s brand facilities and create new commercial opportunities in the surrounding neighbourhood.
Local officials and club representatives indicate the development will combine sports use with public attractions and retail, aiming to make the facility active beyond match days and contribute to the area’s economic activity.
