Roma sign Santiago Castro
The 2004‑born Argentine forward joins Roma from Bologna and will wear the number 9 shirt.
Roma have completed the signing of striker Santiago Castro from Bologna, the club confirmed on July 30, 2026.
Born in 2004, Castro is an Argentine international regarded as one of the most promising young forwards to have arrived in Europe in recent seasons.
From Vélez Sarsfield to the Italian top flight
Castro began his senior career at Vélez Sarsfield in Argentina before moving to Bologna, where he developed further and caught the attention of bigger clubs with consistent performances.
His spell at Bologna yielded solid statistics and convinced Roma to press ahead with the transfer, which moves the 2004-born forward onto a different competitive level in Serie A and continental football.
On joining his new teammates, Castro was handed the squad number 9.
Roma supporters will expect the youngster to add fresh attacking options to the squad as he adapts to his new surroundings and the demands of his new club.
