Rosen Bozhinov collapses in Serie B match between Juve Stabia and Pisa

A Bulgarian international collapsed during Serie B action on Saturday, forcing a lengthy pause in the match between Juve Stabia and Pisa.

On-field emergency and hospital transfer

The incident occurred in the 40th minute of the third-round fixture when 21-year-old Rosen Bozhinov suddenly fell to the turf while play was stopped. Teammates, opponents and the medical staff rushed to his aid.

Bozhinov remained conscious but was placed on a stretcher and taken to hospital for further tests. Initial information from Pisa and Serie B indicated the episode resulted from severe dehydration; early convulsions were also reported. The club later announced that his condition is good.

Referee Andrea Calzavara spoke with the team captains and coaching benches after the emergency, and the match was temporarily suspended. Players withdrew to the dressing rooms while officials awaited an update on Bozhinov's condition.

Once stability was confirmed, play resumed after a pause of around 40 minutes. Bozhinov did not return to the field and was substituted by Coppola.
