Rui Pinto accuses Gianni Infantino of knowing about Manchester City’s irregularities
Rui Pinto says Infantino knew of irregularities in 2014 and later sought to limit probes into Manchester City and PSG.

Rui Pinto has renewed explosive allegations, claiming that Gianni Infantino was aware of Manchester City's financial irregularities as far back as 2014 and later used his positions to influence how those cases were handled.
The revelation came after an independent Premier League commission found Manchester City guilty on nearly all counts in its long-running financial probe. Pinto — the whistleblower behind the Football Leaks disclosures — published a blunt accusation aimed at FIFA's president.
What Pinto says
In a written statement, Pinto named Infantino and tied the timing to Infantino's tenure at UEFA. "In 2014, there was a man who already knew about the irregularities related to Manchester City. That man today heads FIFA," Pinto wrote.
Pinto went further, alleging that Infantino later acted to limit the scope of investigations into the finances of both Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain. "He did everything in his power to ensure that Manchester City and PSG received only fines and thus avoided a major investigation that could have led to exclusion from the Champions League," Pinto said.
The documents Pinto made public years ago under the Football Leaks banner helped spark investigative reporting by outlets including Der Spiegel and partners in the European Investigative Collaborations, and those reports prompted the Premier League to launch its own inquiry. Now, after the commission's ruling — which held the club guilty of nearly all of the 115 alleged financial breaches — the allegations have returned to the spotlight.
Manchester City insists on its innocence and has announced plans to appeal the commission's findings. Pinto's new statements revive old questions about what was known inside UEFA and who might have influenced the handling of high-profile club investigations.
