Russia warns Britain after reports of British drones used in strikes inside Russia

Russia's embassy in London issued a sharp warning to the United Kingdom after reports that Ukrainian forces have started using British-supplied drones to strike deep inside Russian territory.

The Times reported that, on Sunday, British aircraft began to be used in attacks reaching far into Russian soil, a development later carried in Russian state media.

In a strongly worded statement the embassy argued that London was no longer a neutral supplier but an active supporter of Kyiv's operations and included the following charge: "The United Kingdom thereby becomes an aider and accomplice in the bloody crimes and terrorist attacks of the Ukrainian neo‑Nazis, with the aim of containing our country and inflicting maximum damage by the hands of others."

Diplomatic escalation

The Russian embassy in London also warned that "the United Kingdom will bear the consequences of its actions," framing the reports of British drones as proof that Britain is consciously encouraging an escalation of the conflict while publicly professing a desire for peace.

The diplomatic note echoed Moscow's broader criticism that Western military assistance to Kyiv fuels attacks on Russian territory and raises the risk of a wider confrontation.

British officials have meanwhile moved to expand restrictions on Moscow, introducing sanctions targeting Russian banks and ships as tensions between the two countries deepen.
