Russian woman found dead in suitcase in Belgrade; Turkish national arrested

A young Russian woman was found dead inside a suitcase in Belgrade, and a 25-year-old Turkish national has been arrested on suspicion of her murder.
The victim is 28-year-old Ljudmila Konstantinovna-Turkova, who had been reported missing a few days earlier. Authorities say the suspect, identified by initials K.E., was detained while trying to leave the country through Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport.
Details from the investigation
Investigators believe K.E. killed Konstantinovna-Turkova on Sunday in a rented apartment in the Belgrade suburb of Borča. After the killing, the suspect allegedly placed her body in a suitcase and dumped it in the Vizelj canal.
A friend of the victim had posted an appeal for help on social networks, saying she was last reachable on Saturday evening.
Police placed the suspect in custody for up to 48 hours; he will be brought before a prosecutor facing a criminal charge for aggravated murder.
Interior Minister Ivica Dacic said police dog Aki located the suitcase with the body in the Vizelj canal after the arrest.
