A jet-powered drone struck a crowded platform as passengers boarded a train to nearby Zaporizhzhia, state rail company and officials said.

A Russian drone struck the main railway station in the Ukrainian city of Dnipro, killing at least 13 people after hitting a platform crowded with passengers boarding a train, officials said.
The state railway company said a jet-powered drone hit the platform as a passenger train was preparing to depart for the nearby city of Zaporizhzhia.
Conflicting initial reports on casualties
Regional governor Oleksandr Khanzha told reporters that at least 13 people were injured, a figure that differs from other initial accounts reporting fatalities. Authorities have not yet released a consolidated casualty list.
The strike struck during boarding, when the platform was busy with people getting on the train, according to statements from local officials and the railway operator.
The incident adds to a series of attacks on transport infrastructure in Ukraine since the start of the wider conflict. Local emergency services and investigators are expected to examine the scene and determine the full scope of the damage and human cost.
