Russian drone hits passenger train in Odesa region; two killed

At least two people were killed after a Russian drone struck a passenger train in the Odesa region, Ukrainian Railways director Oleksandr Peretsovski said.

Peretsovski identified the victims as the train driver and his assistant.

The State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported that at least 317 passengers, including 67 children, were evacuated to safety after the attack.

Buses were organised to transport the evacuated passengers to Odesa.

Details still limited

Authorities have not yet released further information about the circumstances of the strike or the full extent of the consequences. Emergency services remain on the scene as investigations continue.
