Russian drone strike on Sumy shopping center kills at least two

At least two people were killed and 14 wounded after a Russian drone struck a shopping center in the Ukrainian city of Sumy, local authorities reported. The attack damaged the building and at least four vehicles, and firefighters and rescue teams worked at the scene.
Scenes of destruction and rescue
Video from the site shows extensive structural damage to the shopping complex, burned cars and debris scattered around the area. Emergency crews were seen treating the injured and recovering the bodies of those killed.
Rescuers provided first aid to the wounded and secured the scene while investigators began assessing the full scale of the damage. Local officials confirmed that multiple emergency units intervened immediately after the strike.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky again criticized the international community for, as he said, an insufficiently strong response to Russian attacks on civilian areas. His remarks followed the latest incident that hit a public, non-military target.
Moscow, for its part, repeatedly denies deliberately striking civilians and maintains that its strikes target facilities connected to Ukrainian military activity.
