Russian missile destroyed Datagroup data centre in Kyiv
Datagroup CEO Mihajlo Shelemba said the facility's infrastructure was completely destroyed but services continue through backup locations; no injuries reported.

On October 19, 2026, a Russian ballistic missile struck and destroyed the infrastructure of the Datagroup data centre in Kyiv, Datagroup’s chief executive officer Mihajlo Shelemba said. The company added that the facility cannot be restored after the strike, though customer services are still running from backup locations and no employees were reported injured.
Shelemba posted on Facebook: "Another attack on our data center, this time with a ballistic weapon. Unfortunately, the data center infrastructure has been completely destroyed, and restoration is impossible."
Operations continue via backup sites
Datagroup said services remain available thanks to redundant infrastructure routed to other locations. The company did not provide a technical, independent damage assessment, and it is not yet clear whether the strike will cause longer-term service interruptions for all customers.
Datagroup is part of the DVL group, which also includes the internet provider Volia and the mobile operator lifecell. The same Kyiv data centre was previously damaged on September 25, when the company reported that customer data had been preserved and services continued through backup systems.
So far the reports of total infrastructure destruction rely on the statement from Datagroup's CEO. No third-party verification of the extent of data loss or system damage has been published.
Authorities and independent technical teams have not yet released an assessment; until that appears, the full implications for customers and the wider network remain uncertain.
