Crisis Management Centre: 34 fires in the last 24 hours, seven contained; DZS director says the danger remains high.

Three wildfires remain active in the municipalities of Struga, Macedonski Brod and Chucher‑Sandevo, the Crisis Management Centre (CUK) reported this morning. Over the past 24 hours authorities recorded a total of 34 fires, seven of which have been brought under control.
Where the blazes are burning
In the Struga municipality fires are active near the villages of Burinec, Lokov, Selce and Elevci, where low‑stem forest (shrub and low trees) is burning. In Macedonski Brod a fire is burning near the village of Belica, specifically at a site known as Kajorec on the route toward Breznica. On Skopje’s Crna Gora, in the Chucher‑Sandevo municipality, a blaze is active near the village of Brest at a location called Ramno.
Fire crews confirmed seven incidents were contained in the last day: near Benche in Macedonski Brod; near Tajmishe and above Knezhino in Kičevo; near Pechkovo in Gostivar; near Stinik in Novo Selo; near Bardovci in Karpoš; and near Kopanica in Saraj.
Angelov: "The danger of fires is still at a high level; there are several active hotspots that are being intensively extinguished."
Stojanche Angelov, director of the Directorate for Protection and Rescue (DZS), warned yesterday that the risk of open‑space fires remains high. Authorities said crews continue intensive suppression efforts and monitoring of the active fronts.
