Sabah make club history; Sporting win in France
Sabah claimed a maiden Champions League victory while Sporting Lisbon beat Lens 2:0 on 13 October 2026.

On 13 October 2026 the Champions League group stage continued with two notable results: Sabah recorded the first victory in their history in Europe's top club competition, while Sporting Lisbon collected a win away in France.
In Baku, Azerbaijani side Sabah beat Slavia Prague 2:0 to secure their maiden Champions League triumph. Kajhim Paris opened the scoring in the 49th minute after an earlier goal in the first half had been ruled out for offside. Džoj Mikels sealed the win in the 88th minute by exploiting a big mistake in the visitors' defence.
Sporting confirm momentum in Group stage
Elsewhere, Sporting Lisbon travelled to Lens and emerged with a 2:0 victory. Luis Suárez put the Portuguese side ahead in the 22nd minute and Isa Dumbija doubled the advantage in the 74th, ensuring Sporting their second victory in as many group matches.
The evening’s official scores were: Sabah 2–0 Slavia Prague (Paris 49’, Mikels 88’) and Lens 0–2 Sporting Lisbon (Suárez 22’, Dumbija 74’).
Both results reshape the opening dynamics of the groups as the competition moves deeper into the group phase.
