Skopje man sanctioned after truck dumped construction waste in Karpoš

A 50-year-old Skopje resident was identified and sanctioned after videos shared on social media showed a Mercedes truck dumping construction waste on a green area in the Karpoš municipality on October 30, 2026.

Police summons and official questioning

The man was summoned today to the Karpoš Police Station for an official interview, police said. Authorities say the footage circulating online led investigators to establish his identity.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs confirmed that, following investigative steps, the individual was located and a formal conversation was conducted with him as part of the procedure.

Measures were taken in coordination with the Environmental Inspectorate at the Municipality of Karpoš, and appropriate legal steps were initiated under the relevant environmental protection rules.

The case highlights increased public scrutiny of illegal waste disposal after the video recordings were posted on social networks, and officials said enforcement actions will continue according to the law.
