Driver sanctioned after drifting in Shtip — had no driving licence or registration plates

On October 15, 2026 a video circulated showing a car performing drifting maneuvers on a public street in Shtip. Local authorities later confirmed the driver was sanctioned after police checks found he had neither a driving licence nor vehicle registration plates.

Police action after video spread

The footage, shared widely on social networks, shows a vehicle turning sharply and sliding in a way commonly described as drifting. Bystanders and other road users were placed at risk while the manoeuvres took place on an ordinary city road.

Police said they identified the driver after receiving reports and imposed administrative sanctions. During the stop, officers established that the person did not possess a valid driving licence and that the car bore no registration plates.

Authorities did not release the driver’s name. The vehicle’s status and any further legal steps remain subject to ongoing procedural checks by the competent services.

Traffic safety experts say such behaviour on public streets is illegal and endangers other road users; police reiterated that similar offences are punishable under traffic regulations and warned against repeating such actions.

The incident was first reported on October 15, 2026 at 10:47, when the video began to circulate online.
