Sapindzhiev: This Pelister is hungry to prove itself
Ivan Sapindzhiev says the retooled, younger Pelister squad will be eager to prove itself in the domestic championship.
Experienced guard Ivan Sapindzhiev has rejoined KK Pelister Bitola, the club he represented between 2022 and 2024, and says the roster assembled for the coming season is motivated to deliver better results.
Pelister banking on youth and hunger
Speaking after his return, Sapindzhiev highlighted that the squad now contains a noticeably younger core and framed that as an advantage for the club’s ambitions.
"We have a much younger team than before and I believe it will be 'hungrier' to prove itself. I am sure the boys are ready to make a name in Macedonian basketball. I think we are heading for an even season. The home court is key in almost all games. Any surprise on the road, whether from us or other teams, will be a big plus," Sapindzhiev said.
The veteran guard is one of several new additions Pelister has made as the Bitola side prepares for domestic competition. Club officials expect the blend of experience and youth to produce competitive performances throughout the campaign.
The comments were made on 26.08.2026 as the team finalises preparations ahead of the national championship season.
