Sara Mitevska reaches round of 16 at European U16 Championships in Parma
Mitevska defeated Emese Serkedi 2-1 (6:3, 4:6, 6:0) and will meet top seed Maria Valentina Pop tomorrow.
22.09.2026 — Macedonian junior player Sara Mitevska advanced to the round of 16 at the European Under-16 Championships held in Parma after a three-set victory over Hungary's Emese Serkedi.
Mitevska won the match 2-1 in sets. She took the opening set 6:3 in games, dropped the second 6:4 and dominated the decider, claiming it 6:0 without conceding a game.
Next opponent: top seed Maria Valentina Pop
Tomorrow Mitevska is scheduled to face the No.1 seed Maria Valentina Pop of Romania in the round of 16. A win would put her into the quarterfinals of the continental tournament.
Mitevska is also a national representative in the BJK Cup and recently competed at the Mediterranean Games in Taranto, experiences that have contributed to her development on the international junior circuit.
In the boys' draw, Marko Aleksovski was beaten in straight sets by the Netherlands' Mats Hute, the score recorded as (63 61) in the official results.
