North Macedonia women finish seventh at Balkan Senior Championships in Sarajevo

North Macedonia's women's team finished seventh at the Balkan Senior Championships in Sarajevo, while the men's side fought in classification matches but failed to secure a top-five finish.

Group win over Kosovo

Both the women's and men's national teams advanced from the group phase after a victory over Kosovo, which had kept their tournament hopes alive and sent them into the placement rounds.

In the matches to determine places five through seven the men produced more competitive performances but were unable to convert that into an outright victory that would have lifted them higher in the final standings.

The women's squad performed solidly in the knockout phase and closed their campaign in Sarajevo in seventh position.

The Macedonian delegations competed in individual events and mixed doubles. The men's roster featured Filip Mladenovski, Kristijan Stanojkovski and Luka Stojcev; the women's team comprised Sofija Hasanu, Amelia Nikolov and Sara Stojanovska. The teams were led by coach Zoran Jovanovski.

The Balkan Senior Championships took place in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina from 15 to 19 September 2026.
