Sekou Sila named Round MVP as TFT beat Skopje

Round 2 of the MTEL Superleague featured several standout individual performances, with TFT’s new import Sekou Sila again taking the spotlight after a head-to-head duel with Skopje’s Colin Parker at T Arena. TFT emerged with the win, and Sila was named the round’s MVP.

Duels and numbers that decided the night

Sekou Sila continued his impressive start to life at TFT, producing the highest efficiency rating in round two — 35 index points — and a game-defining double-double of 23 points and 15 rebounds. He shot 1/2 from three, 6/10 on two-point attempts and was perfect from the free-throw line at 8/8. Sila also added two steals and one assist, committed one turnover, and spent 35 minutes and 47 seconds on the floor. His form is already being flagged as crucial for TFT’s ambitions both in the domestic championship and the ABA 2-league.

On the opposing side, Colin Parker matched the offensive challenge with a prolific showing in only his second game for Skopje. Parker played all 40 minutes and finished with 31 points, including eight three-pointers from 13 attempts, two shots from two (2/7) and 3/4 from the line. He collected 12 rebounds and handed out four assists, while adding one block and one steal; he had two turnovers.

Other players selected to the round’s first five included Jacob Malik of Strumica 2001, Stefan Simić of Kozhuv and Andrej Maslinko of MZT Skopje Aerodrom. Malik delivered a strong contribution to Strumica 2001’s opening victory, posting a 21-point, 10-rebound double-double in under 26 minutes, shooting 8/12 on two-pointers and 5/6 from the free-throw line for a 27 efficiency rating.

Stefan Simić stood out in Kozhuv’s game against the reigning champions MZT Skopje Aerodrom in Gevgelija, finishing with 14 points (7/11 two-pointers), 12 rebounds and seven assists in 37 minutes and 18 seconds, registering a 26 index. For MZT, Andrej Maslinko was one of the top performers with 19 points (2/2 from three, 6/10 two-pointers, 1/2 free throws), eight rebounds and three assists in roughly 34 minutes of play.
