Shkembi after 6-0 over Arsimi: Pleased with the win, it could have been more convincing

Struga Trim & Lum beat Arsimi 6-0 in a league match on September 22, 2026, and coach Bledi Shkembi said he was pleased with the result while insisting the win could have been even more emphatic.

Shkembi: I liked our first half despite no goal

Shkembi singled out the team's first-half performance even though the goals all came after the break. "A 6-goal victory — I believe we deserved it. We should have scored in the first half, but we failed to take our chances properly. There was a bit of luck in the second half with the opponent goalkeeper's mistake, but I think we fully deserved the win," he said, praising the players for following the match plan.

He added that, from a tactical standpoint, the opening 45 minutes were the most convincing. "Regarding the way the match was played, I personally liked the first half the most, because we were very dominant on the pitch and played as we had prepared," Shkembi said, stressing that the team carried out its assignments with discipline.

The coach also reviewed Struga's start to the season, noting the team sits second after eight rounds and that, while he is satisfied with the collected points, the club missed opportunities on some away fixtures. "We have a defeat...!! Nevertheless, I can say that I am satisfied with the team in these eight weeks of the championship. We would have liked to have a few more points, but we did not achieve that. From the way we played, I think we dominated our opponents. Second place is positive, but the championship is long and we want to do our best by the end of the season," he said.

Shkembi welcomed the international break as a chance to rest staff and players. "Of course, we all need a somewhat longer break, and the players deserve it," he said.

Looking ahead to the title race, the coach identified three to four clubs as real contenders, Struga among them, and warned against repeating last season's collapse. "We are aware that we must not make the mistake from last year, when we were in the title race for a long time and in the end made more mistakes than necessary," he concluded.
