Shkendija sells Fabris Tamba to Orenburg for €450,000
Club to receive €250,000 immediately and €200,000 in January; Tamba missed the last match due to medical checks.
Shkendija has reached an agreement to transfer forward Fabris Tamba to Russian side Orenburg for a total fee of €450,000, a move that leaves the Tetovo club without one of its most important attacking players at a delicate moment.
Immediate payment and a January instalment
The terms agreed between the clubs call for €250,000 to be paid to Shkendija now, with the remaining €200,000 to arrive in the club's account in January. Negotiations over the final details of the compensation were under way while medical checks were completed.
Coach Artim Polozhani faces a significant loss in the squad as Shkendija struggle for results: the team recently suffered a home defeat to Tikvesh and drew away at Arsimi, heightening the impact of Tamba’s departure.
Tamba missed the most recent match against Arsimi because he was undergoing medical examinations in Belgrade, and the clubs continued to finalise the transfer paperwork during that period.
Since joining Shkendija the forward has featured in 48 matches and scored 19 goals. He was a decisive figure in the club’s breakthrough last season that led to qualification for the Conference League, and this autumn he scored both goals in a big win over Vardar in Skopje.
Before arriving in Tetovo, Tamba played for Shkupi and spent time in the Braga youth setup in Portugal. Last year Shkendija reportedly turned down an offer of €800,000 for the player.
