Shkëndija beat Bregalnica 2:1 — Gjorgjievski and Gaje decide

Bregalnica lost at home to Shkëndija (T) 1:2 in the afternoon match of the 12th round of the Macedonian First Football League (PMFL) on 01.11.2026. The visitors collected three valuable points and will remain top of the table after this round.

Decisive moments: early strike, late winner and a saved penalty

Shkëndija opened the scoring in the third minute when Ndzengue converted after a neat assist from Krasniqi; it was the Gabon international's sixth goal of the season. After that early setback Bregalnica gradually grew into the game and started creating chances.

In the 25th minute Martin Stojanov fired a powerful shot that Gaje kept out with a superb save. Maksimov and Gligorov also came close on separate occasions, and just before halftime Stojkoski produced a fine finish to level the score at 1:1. Earlier in the first half Tamba had a sitter but Jashar denied him with an excellent stop.

Shortly after the break Gligorov again threatened and Gaje was forced into action. Shkëndija had another opportunity through Tamba in the 70th minute, but Velkoski’s strong challenge prevented a clear shot.

The match turned in Shkëndija's favour in the 74th minute when Marko Gjorgjievski—who had only just come on—scored his first goal for Shkëndija this season after an assist from Beasrt Ibraimi, putting the visitors ahead 1:2. Natanael then had a dangerous attempt in the 78th minute that kept the game tense.

In stoppage time, at 90+4 minutes, Bregalnica were awarded a penalty after Manev handled the ball; the VAR review confirmed the spot kick. However, Gaje denied Nikolov from the penalty and preserved Shkëndija's 2:1 victory.
