Shkendija eye fifth straight as they visit Sileks in Kratovo

Shkendija travels to Kratovo to face Sileks in the Prva Liga derby on 28 August 2026, kick-off 16:00, as the fifth round of the season opens. The clash pits the league leaders, Shkendija, against third-placed Sileks — two of the most productive teams so far this campaign.

Shkendija aiming for a fifth consecutive win

Shkendija arrive in Kratovo with a perfect record: four wins, 12 points, and a five-point cushion over Sileks. The visitors want to extend that run and keep maximum points after the first four rounds.

Sileks, coached by Aleksandar Vasoski, will try to respond after last week’s heavy defeat against Vardar. Playing at home, the Kratovo side will be eager to heal the wounds from that loss and avoid a second consecutive reverse.

Shkendija will be seriously weakened for the match. Krasniqi, Gaje, Freitas, Gjorgjievski and Dimoski are all sidelined with injuries. The only encouraging news for Shkendija’s coach Artim Polozhani is the return of centre-back Anes Meliqi to the squad.

Striker Fahd Ndzengue spoke ahead of the game: "We want to win. We must win, and I think the match will be good. I have confidence in my teammates and in the coaching staff. Let's go and win this match, that's the only thing I can say; let's go for the win and continue the winning run. If I score a goal, it's good for me because I'm a forward, but if the team wins and someone else scores, that's still good because the team is above all. We must do everything for the team; the team comes first," Ndzengue said.

The derby in Kratovo starts the fifth round and will be watched closely by both sets of supporters as the domestic title race begins to take shape.
