Roni Bardži was forced off after a collision in a session at Barcelona's training centre. Initial reports from the club indicate the Swedish attacker suffered damage to the knee ligaments and faces a prolonged spell out of action.
Medical alarm and lengthy tests
After the challenge Bardži cried out and remained on the turf, receiving treatment for more than ten minutes before being helped from the pitch in tears. He clutched his knee immediately after the incident, and team medics described the scene as worrying.
Barcelona's medical staff fear Bardži has torn the knee ligaments and sent him for detailed scans. Early indications suggest he will be out for several months; there is hope the ligaments are not completely ruptured, since he suffered a full tear in the past.
