Shtip secure historic first Super League victory, beat Strumica 87-81
Marjan Srbinovski’s side came from a narrow late scare but closed the game with a 6-0 run to record their debut Super League victory.
Shtip recorded a landmark victory on Saturday, beating Strumica 87-81 to secure their first-ever win in their debut Super League season.
Marjan Srbinovski’s team controlled the game for much of the evening at home, opening the match with a 15-11 lead after the first quarter and carrying a 40-37 advantage into halftime.
The third quarter saw the margin shrink to a single point, leaving the outcome uncertain. In the closing minutes, following a three-pointer by Kraford that put Strumica up 81-79, Shtip answered with a decisive 6-0 run to close out the win.
Karakolev paced the winners with 19 points, Pol added 17 and Kostoski contributed 12. For Strumica, Džejkob was the top scorer with 19 points while Pandev finished with 17.
Debut season milestone
The result gives Shtip their first victory of the season and a boost of confidence after a challenging start in the Super League. Strumica, coming off an upset win over MZT Skopje last round, fell short in a tight contest.
The final score: Shtip 87, Strumica 81.
