Adem Mekic returns to MZT Skopje Aerodrom
The Macedonian national team guard signed for the next year and a half; the club also parted ways with coach Vasko Atanasov.

Adem Mekic has rejoined MZT Skopje Aerodrom, the club announced on October 30, 2026, as the team strengthens its roster ahead of the domestic and regional competitions. Mekic signed a contract that covers the next year and a half.
Earlier the same day the club also dismissed head coach Vasko Atanasov, a change that comes amid a broader reshuffle of the team's staff and playing rotation.
Third spell in Aerodrom
This will be Mekic’s third stint at MZT Skopje Aerodrom — he previously wore the club’s colours from 2014 to 2017 and again from 2020 to 2023. The national team guard returns to Skopje with extensive international experience.
Most recently, Mekic celebrated a domestic double in Croatia with Zadar, adding significant competitive minutes and trophies to his résumé before opting to come back to Aerodrom.
The club expects Mekic to add defensive solidity, energy and a winning mentality as MZT navigates the remainder of the domestic season and regional engagements. Further details about the squad and the coach's replacement were not disclosed at the time of the announcement.
