Switzerland beat Scotland 3:0 at Hampden Park

Switzerland defeated Scotland 3:0 at Hampden Park on 29.09.2026 in the second round of the UEFA Nations League group that also includes North Macedonia.

The tie was decided early when Scotland were reduced to ten men in the 10th minute after Jack Hendry was sent off for a foul on Dan Ndoye. Two minutes later Ricardo Rodriguez curled a free kick into the net to put Switzerland ahead.

Match developments

With the extra player Switzerland controlled possession and the tempo of the match, restricting Scotland’s opportunities before half-time.

Midway through the second half Nico Elvedi extended the lead to 2:0 in the 59th minute after a Dan Ndoye assist, and the Swiss pressure kept creating chances against goalkeeper Angus Gunn.

Zeki Amdouni completed the scoring in the 82nd minute with a second assist from Ndoye, sealing a 3:0 victory. Switzerland now have two wins in the group, following a 3:0 triumph over North Macedonia in the opening round, while Scotland remain on one point after a goalless draw with Slovenia.
