State institutions have not yet received formal notification from Bulgarian authorities about Mihailov’s presence, according to official statements, and until such a note arrives the police and prosecution in North Macedonia say they cannot disclose details of any procedural steps.

Hristijan Mickoski publicly reminded Bulgarian President Rumen Radev that the two countries are NATO allies, using the development to press for clearer communication between Skopje and Sofia. The comment highlighted tensions in how authorities exchange information about high‑profile fugitives.
