Cyprien Sarrazin aims to return to World Cup on November 28, 2026
The 31-year-old Frenchman recovered from a December 2024 head injury and plans to race the Cooper Mountain super-G on November 28, 2026.

French alpine skier Cyprien Sarrazin is preparing to return to World Cup competition after the near-fatal crash he suffered in December 2024, and he has a concrete target date in his calendar: November 28, 2026, at Cooper Mountain.
Sarrazin was seriously injured during a downhill training run on the Stelvio track in Bormio in December 2024. He sustained severe head injuries and a brain haemorrhage that required emergency surgery and left him in a coma for a period.
The road back to top-level racing has been long and uncertain, but the 31-year-old has steadily rebuilt his fitness and technique. He told Eurosport that training this year in Ushuaia, Argentina, gave him a major confidence boost after nearly two years away from competition.
According to Sarrazin, the sessions in Ushuaia allowed him to handle a variety of snow conditions; he also noted that before flying south he had spent only two days on skis, so the progress exceeded his own expectations.
Targeting Cooper Mountain
Sarrazin has already circled November 28, 2026, as the date he aims to return in the first World Cup super-G of the season at Cooper Mountain in the United States. If he starts there, it will mark the end of almost two seasons out of the World Cup circuit.
While doubts about a comeback were realistic after his December 2024 injuries, Sarrazin’s recent preparations suggest he believes he can once again challenge the world’s best downhill and super-G specialists.
