Egypt coach Hossam Hassan reportedly “fell unconscious” after a fight involving two women linked to him — police detained both
Police detained two women after a confrontation and the coach reportedly “fell unconscious”; an investigation has been opened.

Egypt national team coach Hossam Hassan was at the centre of an extraordinary off-field incident on 17 August 2026 after an altercation between two women linked to him ended with police intervention and his reported collapse.
Local authorities were called to the scene when the confrontation escalated; officers detained the two women, described in initial reports as two actresses, and removed them from the location. Shortly afterwards, Hassan reportedly “fell unconscious” as a result of the stress, and early updates say he is currently in stable condition.

The intervention by law enforcement prevented the situation from intensifying further. Officials confirmed they had to step in on the field and take the participants of the fight into custody; the precise motives behind the clash will become clear after the ongoing investigation concludes.
Hossam Hassan’s personal life has been a recurring subject of public attention. He married Huda El Ghorbavi in 1994, with whom he has four children, and later entered a marriage with Dani Adam — a relationship that for years attracted press attention because of frequent legal disputes.
The episode has provoked a significant reaction across Egyptian media and among football followers, both for its bizarre nature and for involving the head coach of one of Africa’s most prominent national teams. Authorities have not yet released a final statement on charges or further medical details.
