Sunny and very hot, isolated afternoon showers and thunderstorms possible
UHMR forecasts daytime highs of 32–39 °C and isolated afternoon storms with heavy rain and thunder.
Today will be mostly sunny and hot, with only small to moderate local cloudiness. In the afternoon there will be conditions for isolated instability in some places, with the possibility of heavy showers, thunder and gusty wind. A moderate, at times stronger, northerly wind is expected. The Hydrometeorological Service (UHMR) provided these details.
Night and morning temperatures will range from 15 to 24 °C, while daytime highs are forecast between 32 and 39 °C. Winds will be moderate overall, with stronger gusts possible in exposed areas from the north.
In Skopje the day will be sunny and hot with small to moderate cloud cover. Winds in the capital will be weak to moderate and variable in direction. Temperatures in Skopje are expected to fall to around 22 °C in the morning and climb to a maximum near 39 °C during the day.
Weekend outlook
On the coming weekend mornings should remain sunny and warm, but afternoons again will carry a risk of localized instability. Where instability develops, heavy rain, thunder and strong winds are possible.
Locally these afternoon processes may intensify into severe storms with torrential downpours, strong wind gusts and conditions favourable for hail. Residents in vulnerable areas should be ready for sudden changes and short-lived intense weather.
