Sunny and very hot today, highs up to 40°C; local thunderstorms possible tomorrow afternoon.

Sunny and very hot weather will remain across North Macedonia today, with only small to moderate cloud cover and daytime temperatures reaching up to 40 degrees Celsius in some areas.
Morning temperatures are forecast between 14 and 23 degrees Celsius, while daytime highs will range from 32 to 40 degrees Celsius. Winds will be weak to moderate, with locally stronger gusts from the north at times.
In Skopje the day will also be sunny and very warm, with light to moderate cloudiness. A northerly wind will blow intermittently stronger in parts of the valley, and temperatures are expected to move from 19 degrees in the morning to 38 degrees during the day.
The Hydrometeorological Service (UHMR) warns that for tomorrow afternoon local instability is expected: "For tomorrow afternoon local instability with heavy rain, thunder and in places conditions for the appearance of short-lived storm are announced."
UHMR also notes that winds tomorrow will be weak to moderate from the northeast, locally strengthening at times, and that the maximum temperature will be in the range from 32 to 30 degrees.
Residents are advised to take usual precautions against heat during the day and to follow weather updates tomorrow afternoon in case of locally intense showers or thunderstorms.
