Sunny and warm, isolated afternoon instability with possible severe storms

Sunny and warm across North Macedonia on August 29, 2026, with only small to moderate local cloudiness. In some places atmospheric instability will develop, bringing heavy showers, thunder and strengthened winds; locally these processes may intensify into severe storms with heavy rainfall, strong gusts and a chance of hail.

In Skopje the day will be sunny and warm with little to moderate cloud cover. During the afternoon isolated unstable cells are expected to form, producing heavy rain, thunder and gusty winds. In parts of the valley these phenomena may take the form of severe storms with torrential rain, very strong wind and conditions favorable for hail.

Temperatures are forecast to range from a minimum of 12 to 22 °C to a daytime maximum between 31 and 38 °C.
