Spajić warns of planned hybrid operation to destabilize Montenegro
Montenegro's prime minister says security information points to coordinated action involving representatives from at least two regional states after closure of new negotiating chapters.

Montenegro's prime minister, Milojko Spajić, warned of an alleged coordinated attempt to destabilize the country and said such efforts will not derail its European path.
Warning from the prime minister
Spajić published the message on the social platform X, saying he had received operational security information linked to upcoming developments in Montenegro's EU accession talks.
"We have serious security-operational information that after the announced closure of the new negotiating chapters a coordinated hybrid action will follow, in which representatives of at least two states from the region will be involved," Spajić wrote on X.
He described the aim of the predicted activity as the destabilization of Montenegro and said it could be accompanied by backing from certain political actors and parts of the domestic media.
"According to our knowledge, such activities aim to destabilize Montenegro, with expected support from certain political actors and part of the media scene in our country. We know about these intentions and are aware of their goal. Attempts at destabilization will not change our course nor stop Montenegro's European path, which is greater than the everyday interest of any political structure," Spajić said.
The statement came as Brussels has reportedly been considering packaging Montenegro together with Iceland in a wider EU enlargement decision. The prime minister and security services say they are monitoring the situation closely and assert that the government's course toward European integration will continue.
