Bayern sporting director lashes out at Tripić: "He played like a real scoundrel"
Eberl accused Tripić of deliberate provocation after Michael Olise was sent off and Viking fought back to draw 3-3.

14 October 2026 — Bayern Munich's sporting director Max Eberl openly criticised Zlatko Tripić after his side were held to a 3-3 draw away at Viking FK in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
The match swung dramatically: Viking led 2-0 at the interval, and Bayern staged a fightback to lead 3-2 before a late incident changed the game.
Red card after provocation
In the 73rd minute, Michael Olise received a red card following a confrontation with Viking captain Zlatko Tripić, who struck Olise in the face with the ball. Tripić later set up the equaliser, and Hamse Haugen converted to make the final score 3-3.
After the game Eberl was blunt in his assessment of Tripić's conduct. "He played like a real scoundrel throughout the match. He wanted them to win the game, and we fell for his provocations. He got what he wanted when one of our players was sent off. We must remain calm when faced with such provocations," Eberl said.
Asked whether the club might discipline Olise for his reaction, Eberl added: "We'll discuss it with a cool head when passions have calmed."
Bayern coach Vincent Kompany also commented on the red card: "He is aware of the mistake he made. You could see how sorry he was for letting the team down. It's completely fine, these things happen in football."
