Serbian Prime Minister Gjuro Macut visits Ohrid, meets with Hristijan Mickoski

The Prime Minister of Serbia, Gjuro Macut, this afternoon arrived in Ohrid as part of an official visit to the country. At Ohrid airport he was greeted by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timcho Mucunski.

After the airport welcome, Macut held a meeting with his host, Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski. The meeting opened topics on deepening bilateral cooperation, economic relations and infrastructure connectivity between the two countries.

Focus on practical cooperation

The two prime ministers confirmed their commitment to advancing friendly relations and to considering joint initiatives that would contribute to greater development and prosperity. The discussion also addressed current regional challenges and opportunities for greater coordination.

In a social media post, Mucunski wrote: "The focus of the talks will be the further enhancement of political dialogue and the deepening of economic cooperation between the two countries. Ohrid, as a city of exceptional historical, spiritual and cultural significance, represents a bridge between the two countries and is a fitting place for a meeting dedicated to friendship, good-neighborly relations, regional stability and cooperation."

Prime Minister Mickoski after the meeting said: "We reaffirmed the joint commitment to further improve friendly relations, based on mutual respect, good-neighborly cooperation and a shared interest in a stable and prosperous region."

Macut, also in a social media post, wrote: "We look forward to discussions on concrete projects that will further strengthen cooperation in the areas of infrastructure, energy, the economy and regional connectivity."
