Stefan Ashkovski signs for PSS Sleman in Indonesia

North Macedonia international Stefan Ashkovski has officially continued his playing career in Indonesia after signing with PSS Sleman, the club confirmed on August 3, 2026. The 34-year-old left-back will join the newly promoted side in Indonesia's top division.

New destination after a long search

Ashkovski was one of the last Macedonian internationals still without a club this summer; his move to PSS Sleman closes that chapter for the defender. The transfer was announced by the club via its Instagram account.

Across a long and well-traveled career, Ashkovski brings extensive international experience to his new team. At 34 years old, he has played professionally in several countries and is expected to add veteran leadership at left-back.

For the national team, Ashkovski has accumulated 40 appearances for North Macedonia to date, bringing important international pedigree to PSS Sleman’s squad.

The transfer represents another example this summer of Macedonian players moving to leagues outside Europe as they seek playing time and new challenges.

Further details of the contract and the exact timing of Ashkovski’s debut for PSS Sleman have not been disclosed by the club.
