Severina's song lines appear in campaign video of Serbia's student election list
A Serbian student list used lines from Severina's songs in a campaign clip, which the singer later shared on social media.
Students behind the election list "Student List – Students Win" in Serbia released a short campaign video that borrows lines from a song by Croatian pop star Severina.
The clip uses a phrase from Severina's song "Brad Pitt" and links it to the list's ballot number; the singer later reposted the video on her social media accounts.
Lyrics turned into campaign lines
In the footage, one of the sung lines is translated as: "Come closer to me, I'll count to three," a phrase that the students matched to the number under which they appear on the ballot.
The group also adapted wording from another Severina song, posting a message that reads: "Welcome to the club, sit down, make yourself comfortable — the students are winning, isn't that good news?" Severina shared that message as well.
The campaign material sparked attention online after the students published the video and accompanying posts; the use of popular song lines is part of their effort to reach peers ahead of the vote.
