Stojne Nikolova: My father died before our eyes — the hardest period of my life
The singer says she was about 16 when her father died and describes panic attacks and how she copes today.

Singer Stojne Nikolova has repeatedly spoken about the death of her father and the deep mark it left on her life. She says the loss happened when she was still a teenager and that the memory of those moments still brings tears.
Nikolova says her father died in front of the family when she was about sixteen years old, an event she calls the hardest she has ever lived through. She has often become emotional in television appearances when recounting what happened.
"That period was definitely very hard for me, but also for my whole family. I was very young then, I was about sixteen and a half, seventeen years old. But the hardest, I think, was for me, but also for my two younger brothers, and for my mother, and for everyone there at the moment, that he died before our eyes," Nikolova said during an interview on the TV show "Kafe muabeti" on Glamur.
Aftermath and recovery
In the period after her father's death, Nikolova struggled with panic attacks and anxiety. She says she managed to work through those difficult years, but the pain has not completely faded — she still becomes tearful whenever she speaks about him.
"Years have passed, he is not with us, but I think he is proud of me and my brothers, because above all, we remained modest people, honest and good," Stojne Nikolova emotionally shared on "Kafe muabeti."
