Strumica man charged with attempted murder after ex-wife stabbed in café
A man from Strumica is accused of stabbing his former wife in a café; she was taken to Shtip with serious injuries.

A 37-year-old man from Strumica, identified only by his initials Z.P., has been criminally charged with attempted murder after allegedly stabbing his former wife inside a café, authorities said.
The attack took place on July 31, 2026, at approximately 12:40. According to the police account, Z.P. assaulted his 34-year-old ex-wife with a sharp object, inflicting a wound to her face before fleeing the scene.
Victim hospitalised; suspect surrendered
The injured woman was transported to the Medical Center in Shtip, where doctors determined she had sustained serious bodily injuries. The suspect later turned himself in at the Strumica Police Station.
A breath test showed Z.P. had 1.20‰ alcohol in his system. The Strumica regional police submitted a criminal complaint to the Basic Public Prosecutor's Office in Strumica, charging Z.P. with the criminal offence of "attempted murder, in connection with domestic violence" under Article 123, paragraph 2, in relation to Article 19 of the Criminal Code.
Prosecutors said that Z.P. will be brought before a preliminary-procedure judge at the Basic Court Strumica on August 1, 2026.
