Man from Strumica arrested after setting fire in house yard in Gabrovo
He was detained with 2,04‰ blood alcohol; firefighters extinguished the blaze and no one was injured.
Police in Strumica detained a 63-year-old local after he was seen setting a fire in the yard of a house in the village of Gabrovo, Strumica municipality.
Fire spread to the street but caused no injuries
Officers from the Regional Police Directorate — Strumica observed the man ignite the blaze, which later spread from the yard onto the adjacent street. A crew from the Territorial Firefighting Unit Strumica brought the fire under control and extinguished it; no people were injured in the incident.
At the time of detention a breathalyzer test showed the suspect had 2,04‰ alcohol in his blood. The Basic Public Prosecutor's Office Strumica was notified about the case.
Police say that, after the authorities complete the full documentation of the events, appropriate charges will be filed against the individual.
The detained man remains in police custody while investigators finalise the report for the prosecutor.
