A fresh cold front is moving across the Balkans, bringing a marked drop in temperatures in parts of Serbia and wet weather for North Macedonia.

In some areas the region has been unusually warm for mid‑October: in Serbia, daytime temperatures on 21 October reached 26 degrees.

Forecasters warn the incoming cold front will bring rain, thunderstorms, a stronger north‑westerly wind and a noticeable cooling in Serbia.

Where the chill will be strongest

According to Serbian meteorological forecasts, temperatures in the north‑western parts of the country may fall by up to ten degrees. The cooling is expected to spread gradually toward southern and eastern districts.

North Macedonia will feel the change as well: Thursday is expected to bring rain and thunderstorms, with fresher, cooler conditions arriving on Friday and lasting through the weekend.

Residents are advised to prepare for rapidly changing conditions over the next few days as the front moves through the region.
