Judicial Council holds 557th session; quarterly reports for April–June 2026 on agenda

The Judicial Council of the Republic of North Macedonia will hold its 557th session today, with a packed agenda that includes review and adoption of quarterly court activity reports for the April–June 2026 period.

Agenda highlights

Among the items on the table are the adoption of reports following public calls for the selection of presidents of several Basic Courts, a commission review of application timeliness and document completeness for higher-court vacancies, and a report from a recent working visit to a criminal court in Skopje.

The Council will consider and is expected to decide on reports produced after the selection procedure for the posts of president of Basic Court Gostivar, Basic Court Debar and Basic Court Sveti Nikole.

Members will also review the findings of the commission tasked with checking the timeliness of applications and the completeness of submitted documents following the public announcement for the selection of the president of the Appellate Court Skopje and the president of Basic Court Struga.

The session will include presentation of a report from a working visit to the Basic Criminal Court Skopje, detailing observations and recommendations made by Council representatives during that visit.

Finally, the Council will handle the election and dismissal of lay judges and will debate and decide on other reports concerning ascertained conditions in the court system.
