Suzana Mančić becomes grandmother as daughter Teodora gives birth to son Mijat

Suzana Mančić has become a grandmother after her eldest daughter, Teodora Kunić, gave birth to a son in a private clinic in Belgrade. The baby, named Mijat, was born by natural delivery and weighed 3.650 grams.

The proud parents — Teodora and her husband, General Miroslav Talijan — chose the traditional name Mijat, a folk form of Mihajlo. The name traces back to Hebrew and carries the meaning: “He who is equal to God” or “Who is like God”.

Family support

When the first contractions began at around one o'clock after midnight, Teodora's younger sister, Natalija, quietly left the house with her to avoid alarming their mother, Suzana. The sisters arrived at the clinic and stayed with Teodora throughout the labour.

During the entire process in the maternity ward, Natalija held Teodora’s hand and provided constant encouragement. Right after the birth, Natalija posted a photo from the hospital corridor and — with evident joy — announced that she had become an aunt.

The baby’s father waited outside the delivery room and, upon hearing the happy news a little after six in the morning, opened a bottle of old whisky he had been saving for such an occasion.

Reacting to the birth, Suzana said: “I am overjoyed that I have become a grandmother and that everything went perfectly! The baby is well, Teodora was extraordinarily brave and I am immeasurably proud of her.”
