Svetlana on her early romance with Blagoja Grujovski and meeting husband Miki on the runway
The model recalled a youthful relationship with Blagoja Grujovski and how a tumble on the runway sparked her marriage to Miki Crnokrak.
One of North Macedonia’s best-known models and a former beauty queen spoke openly about a romance from the start of her career during an appearance on the talk show Kafe Muabeti.
In the interview Svetlana Crnokrak recalled an early relationship with a popular folk singer who remains beloved by many women in the country. Before her runway career took off she was involved with him for more than two years; at the time tabloids labelled the couple "The Beauty and the Beast."
"We were in a relationship maybe two and a half years. It was during the period when I was a reigning beauty queen and was taking steps in my career. We were known to the public and so it happened that the media called us 'The Beauty and the Beast'. Blagoja and I are still in excellent, correct and friendly relations and we respect each other a lot," Svetlana recalled.
How a fall on the runway changed her life
After that youthful chapter ended, Svetlana met the man she would marry — fellow model Miki Crnokrak. Their first spark came in an unexpected, public moment: while walking the catwalk she tripped and grabbed Miki, and they fell together in front of the audience. Svetlana says that clumsy moment sparked their chemistry.
Today the couple are considered one of the most stable and admired celebrity marriages in North Macedonia; next year they are due to mark a major milestone — 30 years of marriage.
Svetlana and Miki are parents to two daughters, Monika and Nina. Monika has already begun following her parents into modelling and has won titles at international beauty competitions, while Nina is noted for her charm. The family frequently appears together at private and public events, and Svetlana, even at the start of her sixth decade, is still admired for her timeless elegance.
