Skopje police file charges against minor over filmed sexual assault and blackmail

The Skopje Police Department filed criminal charges against a minor from Skopje after investigators concluded there were grounds to suspect serious sexual offences and child pornography offences.

According to the police, in 2025 the accused committed sexual intercourse with a minor and recorded the act on a mobile phone. The video was later used to coerce and blackmail the victim.

Charges and allegations

The complaint names the minor on suspicion of the crimes described as “production and distribution of child pornography” and “rape of a child who had not reached 15 years of age”.

Police documentation states that the material recorded by the accused served as the means to threaten the victim and compel silence. The filing of the criminal complaint opens formal proceedings that will be taken up by the competent authorities.

Authorities have not released further personal details about the parties involved because the case concerns minors. The police say the investigation produced sufficient evidence to bring the case before the prosecution.

The investigation is ongoing and further procedural steps will be determined by the public prosecutor and the courts.
