Tamara Volcheska advances on Zvezde Granda — mother steals the show backstage
Macedonian singer won a direct pass to round two, praised backstage by her mother and placed with coach Aleksandar Milić Mili.
Tamara Volcheska grabbed attention in the new season of Zvezde Granda with a forceful, energetic performance that sent the studio audience and jury on their feet.
The audition and the backstage support
Volcheska earned direct qualification to the second round after her audition. When Ceca Raznatovic withheld a vote—explaining that Tamara's genre was outside her area of expertise—the Macedonian singer joined the team of Aleksandar Milić Mili.
While Tamara performed, her biggest support came from backstage: her mother, who appeared well-groomed and elegant in the footage and proudly told the host that her daughter was simply born to be on stage.
After the broadcast Tamara posted several photos with her mother, and viewers quickly noted the family resemblance and the singer's positive energy.
Speaking to the show's production portal after the audition, Volcheska described her musical preferences—pop-rock and EX-YU hits—and shared her first impressions of being on the show. "I think Mili is a really good choice, he has a lot of knowledge and I hope our energies will match for collaboration. If it were up to me, I might have chosen Sanja Vučić, but Mili was in my top three anyway. I'm overjoyed that I advanced directly to the second round," she said.
Volcheska admitted this was her first time competing on the show and that she had previously lacked confidence. "Now I realized how much I'm worth and I hope my five minutes are coming. A person must believe in themself. My goal is the final, I hope the audience will recognize that," she told cameras.
She also sent warm greetings to last year’s winner Bojan Ilievski: "I'm happy that for several years Macedonians have been achieving great placements in Zvezde Granda and I hope to justify that."
