Tartan Army brings roughly 4,000 Scottish fans to Skopje

Scotland's supporters group the Tartan Army is expected to bring about 4,000 fans to Skopje for the upcoming UEFA Nations League fixture on 3 October 2026 at the Todor Proeski National Arena; kickoff is scheduled for 20:45.

This marks the third time Scotland has travelled to play in Macedonia, following visits in 2008 and 2013. Organizers and local supporters say the capital will be visibly dominated by Scottish fans throughout the day and into the evening.

Planned activities

Besides the familiar pub gatherings and street atmosphere for which the Tartan Army is known, the supporters have announced several organized activities while in Skopje. The group will donate £5,000 to the Roma Rok Skup association for multiethnic education.

Supporters also scheduled a friendly football match on Saturday morning between visiting Scottish fans and a selection of Macedonian supporters; the event is meant as a social fixture ahead of the evening’s Nations League contest.

Local fan group Falanga is reported to have friendly ties with the Tartan Army, and pubs and restaurants in the city centre are expected to be filled as the Scots gather before the match. Organizers say the city’s centre will present a lively scene tonight and tomorrow.
