Father and son detained after woman reports assault and attempted rape in Leunovo
An 86-year-old owner and his 60-year-old son were detained after a 33-year-old woman from Tetovo filed a complaint of assault and attempted rape in Leunovo.
Two men from Gostivar — an 86-year-old father and his 60-year-old son — were taken into custody after a 33-year-old woman from Tetovo reported that they assaulted her and tried to sexually assault her inside a hospitality venue.
The woman reported that the incident occurred at a hospitality establishment in the village of Leunovo, in the Gostivar area. According to the complaint, the owner of the venue and his father physically attacked her and attempted to force sexual intercourse.
Police action and next steps
Officers detained the two suspects yesterday at around 13:30 and placed them in a police station for further processing. Both men remain in police custody while authorities complete the procedural steps.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) said that after the case is fully documented, an appropriate criminal report will be filed. No additional details about the suspects’ identities or any potential victims’ injuries were released.
Investigators will collect evidence and witness statements from the scene in Leunovo as part of the legal procedure. The case will be forwarded to the competent public prosecutor once documentation is complete.
